Maria Montessori and The Montessori Philosophy

The Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) was founded in 1929 by Maria Montessori to maintain and uphold the integrity of her life’s work and to ensure the philosophy would prevail after her death.
AMI is the recognised international authority for Montessori education.

During its long history AMI has fostered the growth and development of Montessori programmes and teacher training, along with supporting the development and education of children and young adults in a vast variety of settings throughout the world.

AMI is diligent in ensuring that Montessori schools and guides are operating in accordance with its important guidelines and philosophy, thus providing parents with the reassurance that their child is being educated with the highest standards of excellence and integrity of method.

AMI is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) associated with the United Nations Department of Public Information (since 1985) and an NGO in operational relations with UNESCO (since 1962).

AMI is a benchmark of authenticity and excellence for Montessori education.  All guides at Beworldwise are AMI trained and environments have been designed in line with the fundamentals of AMI Montessori pedagogy.

Beworldwise honours and adheres to the AMI philosophy, fully committed to enabling children to become the transforming elements of society, leading to a harmonious and peaceful world.
